Apr 13, · @jlazkano: I don't know fail2ban, but denyhosts and similar packages normally depends on standard-logfiles. openwrt lack this standard-logfiles because you could only store them on ramdisk, and the space is quite limited, and they won't survive a reboot. I switched from default firmware to OpenWrt for my: TP-Link TL-WRN/ND v1 and have the problem that I am not able to install any new packages. OpenWRT: Cant install packages - memory issue. Ask Question 5. 3. wget returned * opkg_install_pkg: Failed to download luci-app-wshaper. Perhaps you need to run 'opkg update'? * opkg. Note for “MR V2” There is a possible bug in the Trunk version of OpenWrt for MRv2 and it is possible that after you set it up with a USB you may have occasional 'Stuck Boots' when only the power LED will be on and USB will have power but the router is not booting itself. The workaround for this bug is a manual reboot of router with “turning it off and turning it back on again”.

Oct 24, · I pluggued my MR router directly to my laptop both for installing OpenWRT firmware and for trying to enable ssh protocol (via a telnet connection). I've seen this video failsafe mode out but telnet connection is impossible yet (telnet, ssh and ping). Resources: OpenWrt website; OpenWrt wiki; List of wireless router firmware projects; Failed firmware update on zsun SD card reader (hostipics.nett) and it doesn't appear to be an SD card reader. Windows starts to think about mounting it as something because it shows up as a removable disk while the LED is lit but disappears with the light. Devices with Broadcom WiFi chipsets have limited OpenWrt supportability (due to limited FLOSS driver availability for Broadcom chips). Consider this when chosing a device to buy, or when deciding to flash OpenWrt on your device because it is listed as supported. See broadcom_wifi for details.
